Canada next team to final in Women's World Cup – dream final nailed

The USA and Canada will meet in the final of the Women's World Cup 2024. This is clear after Canada qualified for the final last night after a clear victory against the Czech Republic with 4-0.

On Sunday night, Canada and the Czech Republic played in the semifinals of the 2024 Women's Hockey World Cup. The USA needed a final opponent after crushing Finland in the first semifinal (5-0) and many believed that Canada would complete the big North American final, as always. But the Czech Republic has also shown in this WC that they can be counted on for the future. But looking at the semi-finals in 2024, there wasn't much to say.

Canada took the lead in the semi after just four and a half minutes through Blayre Turnbull and the top nation made it 2-0 before the break. Emily Clark then scored the only goal of the second period and Sarah Fillier nailed the final score to 4-0 in the third and final period. Canada won comfortably, blanking the Czech Republic 47-9 in shots after the World Cup semi-final.

Now a “dream final” awaits between the USA and Canada in the Women's Hockey World Cup 2024 in Utica. The final starts on Sunday 14 April at 23:00 Swedish time and will be broadcast on Sveriges Television. The Czech Republic will face Finland in the bronze medal match on the same day, starting at 19:00.
