P17: Sweden wins the qualifying group – finished with a cross

Sweden's P17 national team was already ready for the EC before Tuesday's match. After two late goals in the match, the P07 national team ended the EC qualifier with 1-1 against Romania.

On Tuesday, Sweden's U17 men played their last match in the second and final round of the EC qualifiers (Elite Round). Blågult were ready for the match before the P17-EC 2024 in Cyprus after two victories in two games before Tuesday's clash with Romania. It was a low-scoring event against the home team. Sweden played with a talented and slightly ordinary national team to finish the qualification in the best way.

After a long and low-scoring match, where it looked like it would be goalless, a late goal came for the Swedish part. Jonah Kusi-Asare worked a ball along the short line and slid in a perfect pass to Fred Bozicevic, who in turn was able to score 0-1 for Sweden in the 85th minute. Something that you thought would be a winning goal. But after a Swedish sloppiness following a Romanian attack, the home team equalized at 1-1 in the 90th minute to give the match some nerve.

However, Romania never equalized and the match ended 1-1. Sweden wins their group with the points and finishes on seven points ahead of Wales (6p), Romania (2p) and Bulgaria on one point.
