Tre Kronor has secured three new points in Group B. After 6-1 against Germany, Pontus Holmberg met VMhockey.se in the mixed zone in Ostrava where he gives his thoughts on the meeting with Germany and Sweden's chances for group victory.

On Monday evening, Sweden played their third match in four days, where they collected their third straight victory after an impressive 6-1 victory against Germany.

– It is good. Nice to win again, I think we played well today too so it was nice to have a good match, says Pontus Holmberg to VMhockey.se after the win.

– I think we played well the whole match. We don't concede much and what we concede takes (Samuel) Ersson, so it was good, he says.

Three new points in the account and a total of nine points in the table. Which gives Sweden a dream start to the championship in the Czech Republic.

– The score is clearly important. We want to win the group, so then you have to win hockey matches, so all points are important, says Pontus Holmberg.

Sweden is now in an excellent position for the group victory. With victories against Kazakhstan, Latvia and France, Sweden has a secured group victory even before the final round against Slovakia. Something the skilled center had no idea about.

– No, I actually didn't know that. But it's clear, we try to win every match, so we'll try to win the group on our own, says Holmberg.

The chain with Pontus Holmberg, André Burakovsky and Marcus Johansson has stood out in the tournament with a good balance and many created chances. Although things could be better according to the Toronto Maple Leafs center.

– It has been perfectly fine. I think our chain is working pretty well and has scored some goals, so it's nice to get the puck in. Quite an okay start, but it can definitely be a little better going forward, he says and talks about his fellow players:

– They are two skilled players. “Mackan” is skilled with the puck and “Burra” has good speed and good skills out there. There are two offensively good players so you have to do a little more rough work in front of goal and so on, but that's good, says Holmberg with a smile.

Is this what your role should look like?

– Well, I don't know that. I try to get in front of the goal and hide a little sometimes but that can also be better.
